Homegrown-Wheatgrass UK was established by Richard and Agi in 2014 but our passion for wheatgrass goes years back.

Rich has heard about wheatgrass from Agi first and has tried a few different makes in the UK (including powdered products) before moving to Hungary for a few months and trying Agi’s mom’s version out of spelt and has become very fond of it. Now knowing how to grow and produce tasty wheatgrass he didn’t want to go back to buying other products that couldn’t live up to the same standard.

Agi’s mum started growing wheatgrass out of spelt seeds in Hungary and feeding it to Agi’s dad when he became a cancer patient and had two sessions of unsuccessful radio therapy treatments in 2006. (Read the full story) Refusing to have the chemo therapy and with doctors already given up on him, he decided to keep a healthy diet and drink wheatgrass. He managed to recover and keep healthy since. He’s believed in the extreme healing power of this product since so much, that he started growing it on a bigger scale (www.buzafu.com) using the extremely popular spelt seeds and became the biggest natural wheatgrass producer in Hungary.
Our first website that was built and designed by Rich was homegrown-whetagrass.com. When we started trading trading we registered our partnership as Homegrown-Wheatgrass UK. We also contacted the local authorities to make sure we are adhereing all the rules and in the same year we had our hygiene inspection and got the well deserved 5 🙂 as our FOOD HYGIENE RATING
The next step was speltgrass.com and now we are bringing you a more modern and informative website and blog about wheatgrass, wheat-grass.co.uk.
